Housing for the People!
A Mapping Project with Chinatown Tenants Union of CAAAV

The 'Housing for the People! Mapping Project’ will be a bilingual map that centers on place-keeping efforts in Chinatown and the Lower East Side. The map will be used as an organizing tool by members of Chinatown Tenants Union, in an effort to protect families in rent-stabilized homes and preserve the history of Chinatown. CTU members will help map places in Chinatown that are important to the community, under threat of erasure, or are spaces of activism and resilience. We hope the tenants will be able to use this map as a tool to mobilize other tenants to stop evictions, share information about tenant rights and fight gentrification.

唐人街艺术队会在唐人街住客协会做一副唐人街地图壁画。這副【坚守家园：房屋为民】地图计划，是一个发愤保留唐人街和下东城的双语地图。这个计划的长远目标是保护你们的房屋和保留唐人街的历史。唐人街住客协会的会员会跟我们一起提出一些重要的社区地点，濒危的地方（包括住客面临驱逐或房东骚扰的楼宇）。希望能够把完成的地图当一种组织用具来提高住客法律知识和权力，反对贵族化，保护低收入的房屋和家庭。
